Inclusive Spaces at Gardens by the Bay: A Nature Experience for Everyone
Discover a Garden for Everyone
Gardens by the Bay is one of Singapore’s most iconic attractions, home to towering Supertrees, the cool mist of the Cloud Forest, and the ever-changing blooms of the Flower Dome. But beyond the breathtaking visuals lies something even more meaningful: a garden designed for everyone to enjoy.
Today, Gardens by the Bay is growing into a space that welcomes visitors of all ages and abilities, whether you use a wheelchair, have sensory sensitivities, are exploring with young children, or simply need a calm retreat in nature. Here’s what makes it such a special and inclusive place to explore.

Spaces That Soothe the Senses
Quiet Mornings, every alternate month, 8:00 am – 9:00 am at Flower Dome
On the last Saturday of every alternate month, Flower Dome opens an hour earlier for Quiet Morning, a gentle start to the day where sounds are softened and crowds are smaller. Between 8:00 and 9:00 am, you can stroll among the flowers without background music or announcements. Each session ends with a nature-themed workshop, perfect for reflection and sensory exploration. It’s especially welcoming for visitors on the autism spectrum or anyone who prefers a calmer atmosphere.

Sensory Trails, available from October 2024, advance registration required
In collaboration with the Singapore Association of the Visually Handicapped, Gardens by the Bay now offers Sensory Trails for visitors to experience nature through touch, sound, and scent. Guided by trained volunteers, participants can explore tactile paths, feel the textures of leaves, and use a special 2.5D tactile guidebook to imagine the garden’s forms. The programme runs on selected mornings and requires advance booking through the Gardens’ website.

Since 2012, the Gift of Gardens initiative has provided free access to ticketed attractions for more than 100,000 beneficiaries from over 200 charities, including seniors, persons with disabilities, and caregivers. Groups can apply through partner social service agencies to enjoy complimentary visits to the Flower Dome, Cloud Forest, and Floral Fantasy during regular hours (9:00 am – 9:00 pm daily).

Community Art and Participation
Active Garden Batik Mural, viewable daily, 5:00 am – 2:00 am
Art at the Gardens isn’t just to admire, it’s to join in. The Batik Mural Project, designed by special-needs artist Nicole Koo, completed with help from community groups like SAVH and Fei Yue, is displayed in the Active Garden. Visitors can view it any time the Gardens are open.
Throughout the year, art workshops and participatory events invite guests, from seniors to students, to express their creativity through nature-themed activities. Keep an eye on the Gardens’ Events & Programmes page for the latest schedule.
