Planning Your Universal Studios Singapore Visit: Smooth Sailing Ahead!

A little preparation can make all the difference for a fantastic day out. Here’s what you need to know before you even step foot in the park:

  • The Essential Rider’s Guide: This is your best friend for the day! Upon arrival, make sure to pick up a complimentary Rider's Guide at Guest Services, located near the main entrance of the park. This guide provides detailed information on boarding procedures, specific accommodations for each attraction, and the physical requirements for entering or exiting ride vehicles and other attraction areas. It’s an invaluable tool for planning your day safely and comfortably.

  • Getting There: Parking Made Easy: For those arriving by car, accessibility parking spaces are available within Resorts World Sentosa for vehicles displaying an Accessibility Parking Permit.

  • Mobility Device & Storage Rentals: If you need a manual wheelchair or stroller, limited quantities are available for rental on a first-come, first-served basis. You’ll find the rental facility conveniently located just inside the main entrance turnstiles of the theme park. A non-refundable rental fee applies. Storage space for bulky items is also available here.

  • Locker Up for Fun! Each ride at USS has its own unique loose-article restrictions. Lockers are available at the entrance of popular attractions like Battlestar Galactica: Human vs Cylon, Revenge of the Mummy, and Jurassic Park Rapids Adventure (additional fees may apply). Remember, never try to retrieve a lost item while on a ride; notify a Team Member for assistance.

  • Team Member Assistance & Companions: The friendly Universal Studios Singapore Team Members are always eager to assist you in making your day pleasant. While they are experts at providing information and guidance, please note they are not trained in lifting or carrying techniques and cannot provide physical assistance. Therefore, it is highly suggested that guests with disabilities bring a companion who can provide any necessary physical support.

  • Got Questions Before You Go? If you have specific questions before your visit, you can email their Guest Services Team at attractions@rwsentosa.com. Just allow several days for a response due to high email volume. Once you're in the park, feel free to stop by Guest Services near the main entrance for immediate assistance.

Navigating the Park with Ease and Comfort

Universal Studios Singapore is thoughtfully designed with accessibility in mind, ensuring you can move around freely and enjoy every moment.

  • Wheelchair-Friendly Zones: All shopping and dining facilities across the park are wheelchair accessible. Many entertainment offerings also feature clearly marked reserved areas for guests with disabilities.

  • Restrooms for Everyone: All restrooms within the theme park are accessible for guests using wheelchairs. Additionally, each male and female restroom includes a larger lavatory for those requiring extra space. For families, baby changing tables are available in all guest restroom facilities throughout the park.

  • First Aid & Family Services: Should you need any medical assistance, First Aid is readily available within the park. For families with young children, a Baby Care Centre offers nursing facilities, a private nursing room, baby changing area, and formula preparation facilities. Take advantage of their child swap program, allowing one parent to wait with a child while others enjoy a ride, then swap places so everyone gets to experience the fun.

  • Accessible Queues: The queue experience is often an integral part of an attraction's story. Thankfully, all attractions have a select entrance accessible to guests using standard wheelchairs. There are specific boarding requirements and accommodations for wheelchairs at each attraction, so always check with a Team Member.

Accessible Thrills: Rides, Attractions, and Shows!

Universal Studios Singapore offers a fantastic range of attractions, with many designed to be inclusive. It's crucial to consult the official Rider's Guide for specific details on each attraction, as requirements can vary.

Guests Using Motorized Wheelchairs & ECVs: Please note that ride vehicles and attraction queues at Universal Studios Singapore are not designed to accommodate Electric Convenience Vehicles (ECVs) or motorized wheelchairs. However, guests may transfer from their ECV or motorized wheelchair into a standard wheelchair, which can be provided at each attraction location. Many attractions also have specially designed ride vehicle seats to better assist with transfers from standard wheelchairs, motorized wheelchairs, or ECVs.

Oxygen Tanks & Medical Devices: Due to the dramatic movement and special effects, oxygen tanks are generally not permitted on board attractions, with exceptions for Pantages Hollywood Theater, WaterWorld, Donkey LIVE, and stationary seating at Shrek 4-D Adventure and Despicable Me Minion Mayhem.

Important Ride Considerations:

  • Physical Requirements: For many rides, you should be able to continuously grasp the restraint or grab bar with at least one upper extremity and independently maintain yourself in an upright position while seated for the duration of the ride. Some rides also require absorbing sudden and dramatic movements.

  • Missing Limbs & Prosthesis: Some attractions require the removal of prosthetic limbs before riding (e.g., Battlestar Galactica: CYLON/HUMAN, Canopy Flyer) to prevent hazards or loss. Others require securing prosthetic limbs (e.g., Jurassic Park Rapids Adventure, Revenge of the Mummy, Enchanted Airways, Puss In Boots’ Giant Journey, Transformers The Ride). If you have questions, always ask a Team Member or visit Guest Services. Specific attractions also have boarding requirements for riders missing lower limbs or partial lower limbs.

  • Casts or Braces: Guests with casts or braces may not be permitted on rides where they could pose a hazard. If in doubt, consult an attraction Team Member or Guest Services.

  • Health Conditions: Be aware that certain attractions are not recommended for guests with back, neck, heart conditions, abnormal blood pressure, recent surgery, or conditions aggravated by the ride experience. Expectant mothers are also not allowed on certain attractions. If you suspect your health could be at risk, it's best to avoid the attraction.

  • Height Requirements: Most attractions have minimum height requirements. Children within a certain height range often need to be accompanied by a Supervising Companion (aged 14 or older who meets all ride requirements). Hand-held infants are not permitted on many attractions.

Specific Attraction Highlights (Always refer to the Rider's Guide for full details):

  • Hollywood: Pantages Hollywood Theater (allows wheelchairs/ECVs).
